Is Ayesha Curry sleeping? She is a writer (The has the Season of Life: food, family, faith and the joy of eating well), TV host (The Great American Baking Show and Family Food Fight), chef and co-owner of four International smoking restaurants, the wife of the Golden State Warriors star, Steph Curry, and a mother of three children, Riley, Ryan and Canon.
Then there's her latest deal, Fempire, & # 39; an original series on Ellen DeGeneres' Ellentube in which Ayesha uses her platform and resources to help fellow women entrepreneurs build their own businesses. And she does it all (and even more!) With a flawless cup, considering her contract with CoverGirl as the brand ambassador. Oh, and her bright, fluttering, fluttering lashes? She thanked CoverGirl's exhibition mask, which she currently serves as the face of.
During a recent break on her set of her campaign, Ayesha Curry spoke to ELLE.com about her latest CoverGirl Exhibitionist campaign, her best tip for applying mascara, and spa days with her two daughters.
CoverGirl has one of the most recognizable taglines: Easy, Breezy, Beautiful, CoverGirl. What does that line mean to you?
The first campaign I did, I couldn't say the slogan, but on this shoot I did it and it was iconic. To me, it means being effortless and being the latest version of yourself.
When do you feel at the & # 39; freshest & # 39; version of yourself?
I feel the freshest after coming to myself for five minutes. When I'm "babbling" at home, I try to wake up five minutes in advance so I can brush my teeth, fill in my eyebrows, & # 39; mop up a mascara and sometimes add & # 39; lipstick. It makes me feel polished.
How do you know when you've found the right mascara?
Mascara's are like humans: some are a match and others aren't. Have you ever seen the Kermit the Frog meme about mascara? That's how I feel. The eyes are towards the windows of the soul, so that a mascara can make your lashes look brighter and fuller. Covergirl's Exhibit Mask works best on my lashes because it adds great volume.
What are some of your best tricks for mascara applications?
Cut through the wall stick when applying it yourself. Start at the base of the lashes and keep flashing as you apply. Put on the mascara!
What beauty advice would you give your younger self?
I would tell myself not to be afraid to experiment and to use make-up as a creative outlet. I played it safe with makeup and was scared to be the girl walking down the street with too much makeup to look crazy. In fact, who cares? Makeup is a form of expression.
Have your daughters shown interest in makeup?
Far too much interest! They take my makeup and destroy my brushes and it makes me giddy. But I like that they use their creativity. I sometimes let them wear it in the house, and we will do spa nights on weekends. I will take lotion and pretend it is a face mask or they can wear a bit of shiny lip if we take family photos. They love it. I try to teach them that self-care is important at an early age. It was not something I was taught, so I had to learn it quickly.
Why is it important for you to put it in with your daughters early?
People forget to take care of themselves and the world is moving so fast these days. It is important to me to teach them that it is good to have a minute for themselves. I was in a space where I had three children in six years, and I forgot about myself. I am now finally back to a space where I can remember that it is good to take a moment. I just want to make sure they know from a young age that it is not selfish to want to improve yourself, take care of yourself or make yourself feel good.
