Gabriela Hearst to donate all proceeds to help children in Yemen

From December 2 to 9, Gabriela Hearst, the luxury designer of fashion, donates all net proceeds from her flagship and online stores to Save the Children, a nonprofit organization that provides assistance in Yemen.

To support this initiative, the designer will make her eclectic handbag collection (which is usually only available on request) available online at

“Save the Children is one of the largest non-profit organizations on the ground in Yemen. The humanitarian crisis has fallen out of the media discourse because of the speed of our current news state. The disaster is present and needs as much help as possible, "Hearst said in a statement. “For me personally, the holiday spirit has to be about giving, which is why we donate all net proceeds to this important cause. I have deep admiration for the past, present and future work of Save the Children. "

Yemen was engaged in a bloody civil war that escalated one of the most serious humanitarian crises today. The global threat threat of 2019 found that more than 22 million people in the country (about 75 percent of its population) needed humanitarian assistance. Sixteen million do not have access to clean drinking water and food, and more than 1 million suffer from cholera.

Carolyn Miles, CEO of Save the Children, says in a statement: "Save the Children works around the clock every day to give the Yemeni children the support they need. I visited the war-ravaged country earlier this year, and the Yemeni children had most of this conflict. They suffer from malnutrition and other illnesses and miss their school and childhood. We are incredibly grateful to Gabriela Hearst for making the efforts of Save the Children in Yemen the focus of this campaign. As we give this season of giving, it's a unique and meaningful way for buyers to give back and make an impact on the lives of children growing up in the world's greatest humanitarian crisis. & # 39;
