At the 73rd Annual BAFTA Awards, held in London on Sunday evening, guests were asked to make sustainable outfits in an effort to reduce the event's carbon footprint. according to Vogue, onlookers were encouraged to walk the (recycled) red carpet into pieces they already wore, find used pieces or seek eco-friendly brands. Nothing was compulsory, but the organizers hoped celebrities would stick to the green theme.
Kate Middleton clings to that dress code, dressed in an Alexander McQueen gown she originally debuted during a visit to Malaysia in 2012. Still, there were many new things to see: Jodie Turner-Smith, for example , comes in a striking yellow custom to Gucci gown; Laura Dern chose an equally vibrant look from Valentino's haute couture collection that was shown in Beijing last November; Florence Pugh chose a hot pink parachute cap from Dries Van Noten's Spring 2020 line.
