The collapse posed endless challenges for businesses around the world, but it was surprising to see which brands were innovating quickly and thinking of ways to keep working, while following the restrictions closely. Since photo shoots have now been canceled, one of the major barriers to fashion brands is how they can photograph their upcoming collections. Models shoot campaigns themselves on their couches and photographers turn the front rooms into a temporary studio.
One of the best solutions I have seen is Jacquemus' latest images, where designer Simon Porte Jacquemus photographed his grandmother Liline under the spring blossom in France in his designs. This is the perfect snapshot for the summer of 2020, when many people are at their best: whether we are missing out on those we are close to or missing out on. Liline beautifully models the collection and poses in a boxy, pink jacket and carries as many of the iconic handbags as she can. Turn to the cutest grandma in fashion.
